Question Natural alternatives to Osphena????

I love my new urologist, but he wants to put me on Osphena. Some have called it the "vi*gra for women." But that's not the reason he wants me to take it. Rather, it's for the chronic UTIs. He said this drug may help lubricate things down there a bit and keep me from getting the UTIs.

However, after reading some of the side effects, as well as comments on this site, it has me concerned. Some of the comments on that site had me like because energy levels also increased while on it. But other side effects were bad headaches, weight gain (and I've just started losing weight), not to mention the chance of getting endometrial cancer. (And ovarian cancer runs in the family, so that side effect really concerned me.) Not to mention the side effects of excessive sweating, leg cramps, and possible cardiovascular problems.......

I currently take black cohosh for menopausal symptoms, but it sounds like I need something more to help things to function better. Any suggestions????

Don't know about the "o" thingy you mentioned, but about the meno symptoms:

I love 7 Keto DHEA Metabolite topical cream by Life Flo (Swanson's) and usually apply it daily on the thighs....... I've been out of it for about a month and it's either that or your Banana bread recipe that made me gain weight today. LOL

Anyway, my BFF recently mentioned my skinny legs and I can see "the gap" in between, so I know it makes a difference. Also pregnenolone. Helps stabilize the hormonal roller coaster. And calcium with magnesium help to keep one from the up and down moodiness.

What about the pill form of DHEA? Do you think it would work well? That cream is rather pricey.

You pump it once and use that one dose for both inner thighs, so at 13 bucks it should last you about two months. Considering your family's history as you mentioned earlier, a specialist in women's hormonal issues, said to never, ever, take oral hormone replacement. And a quality progesterone cream applied topically also helps and can be found commercially or prescribed in a compound (3 percent at least).

I use to get a UTI about 3 times a year. Ended up in the hospital very ill twice and that was when I started to have AFib episodes.
I started taking cranberry pills from Costco twice a day even though the bottle says one a day. It has been a year and a half now and have not had a recurrence of the infection. I believe it is the pills that are helping me. There are 240 500mg capsules in the bottle and are a reasonable price
