Default Another dog encounter

I was taking a walk with my daughter this evening. We headed out the same route we always do, mainly because the few dogs we encounter are chained or fenced. We walked passed a house that has a bullmastiff chained in the front yard. The thing always barks at us, but we make sure to stay on the other side of the street from it.

A few minutes later, we hear a lady yelling, "Dana!" over and over. We turn around to find the dog has broken loose of her chain and is running as fast as she can, and right for us!!!

I had my pepper spray in my hand. I went running at the dog and yelling. (Lady is yelling, "She won't bite, she won't bite, she won't bite!") And I'm thinking, "Lady, I want to kill your dog right now!" Thankfully, I scared the dog when I went running at it and it took off. It was very scary and threatening to both of us to see it running for us like that.

If I had my 'piece' with me, I probably would have gotten it out, just to let the lady see that she might want to do a better job of keeping her stupid dog chained.

From now on, I will be taking my 'piece' with me. I didn't tonight, because I was wearing elastic band pants, and it wouldn't stay in place, inside the waistband. It may take a bit longer to change into jeans and a belt, but it will sure make me feel safer, knowing my 'buddy' is on my hip "just in case."

Aren't you glad you don't live in my neighborhood?????

You did the right thing Sister, you faced the subject that happened to be a Dog, with that you must of scared the Hell out it, anyway if your running away, no telling what the Dog might of done when it caught up with you.

Yes carry your piece at all times while walking in your neighborhood a good idea if you want to be safe.

God Bless
