Old phone books if you are using an outhouse. Never flush it though.

Now why didn't I think of that one?
Thanks Donna! I've got one more in my T.P. arsenal.

I read the article. You just ruined my night. This topic is way too much. I have thought a lot about different tribulation scenarios, but I will not be able to handle this kind of thing during the trib or whenever.

LEAVES…really? Little tiny bugs are crawling all over leaves…there is more to wipe then just a back door. All I can think about is infection, UTI's, E.coil/oral transmission…etc…AND what about some of us who still have menstrual cycles

Some will be praying for food to fall out of the sky…I will be praying for it to rain feminine products and toilet paper. Again you ruined my night…thinking about facing this kind of thing makes me depressed

From experience leaves are not that bad. I grew up in the country. There were 2 other neighbor boys I spent time with. We'd often be far from a bathroom during our daily escapades when nature called. There was always the woods for privacy with plenty of leaves. And fortunately we could all spot poison ivy.

One thing that bothers me if hard times come, people starving to death with plenty of edible plants growing in the wild right outside their door.

If you can get over the yuck factor, the Indian/ asian method is effective. It involves pouring water down your lower back from a 1 pint cup (it arrives at the right place) and using your left hand. Plenty of soap and water to wash up your hands after that. This is exactly why middle eastern and asian cultures do not use the left hand for eating, etc. This method has the advantage of being far less abrasive on tender areas than using even the softest toilet paper.

Very informative Doug. I never knew that. Well, when put into a situation where my options are very limited, I will remember this technique. Thanks!

Just something to lighten the mood. Years ago in my area, a man sent some money with a letter he wrote Sears and Roebuck to order some toilet paper. Sears wrote back telling him they needed the catalog number. He wrote back and told them, "If I had your catalog I wouldn't need your toilet paper.

Think about this for a minute

What did the Isrealites do while wandering through the desert all those years?
No leaves, no catalogues, no products, except maybe woven cloth.
Moses did tell them to take their paddle with them out away from the camp so they could bury it. Lol
